The process of black nickel plating used for prototype parts

For prototype parts(including metallic prototype parts and plastic prototype parts), the process of black nickel plating mainly includes the following steps:

Pre-treatment: Firstly, the workpiece needs to be pre-treated, including steps such as oil removal, rust removal, polishing, and water washing. Ensure that the surface of the workpiece is clean, free of contamination, and in an activated state

Acid washing activation: Soak the workpiece in acid washing activating agent for 2-3 minutes, and then wash it clean with water. This step is to ensure that the surface of the workpiece can better adsorb the plating solution.

Plating: Place the processed workpiece into the plating solution, control the temperature of the plating solution between 80-90 ℃, with a loading ratio of 0.5-1.5dm ²/liter, and a plating time of 30-60 minutes. Proper stirring and circulating filtration are required during the plating process to ensure even distribution of the plating solution.

Post treatment: After plating is completed, clean the workpiece with deionized water, and then dry it (bake at 100-110 ℃ for 30 minutes) or soak it in dehydrated rust proof oil. Finally, passivation treatment can be carried out and dried again.

Chemical composition & equipment requirements for black nickel plating:

Chemical composition: The main components of black nickel-plating solution include nickel sulfate, sodium hypophosphite, black nickel additives, etc. Nickel sulfate is the main salt, ensuring a certain concentration of Ni ions; Sodium hypophosphite as a reducing agent; Black nickel additives affect the color and properties of the coating.

Equipment requirements: The plating tank should be made of acid, alkali, and high-temperature resistant materials, and it is best to cover it to reduce heat loss and prevent debris from falling in. Mechanical or air agitation is required during the plating process, and the tank solution needs to be circulated and filtered once per hour

Characteristics & application scope of environmentally friendly chemical black nickel plating process:

The environmentally friendly chemical black nickel plating process has the characteristics of non-toxicity and environmental friendliness and is suitable for coating matte nickel alloy layers on the surfaces of iron, steel, zinc alloys, aluminum alloys, and copper alloys. This process is not only suitable for nickel plating on metal surfaces, but also for nickel plating on non-metal surfaces, with low cost, strong tank stability, and long service life.

In addition, black nickel coating has the advantages of good corrosion resistance and good adhesion, which is suitable for various decoration and protection needs.
